What this app stores
Material Stock stores only the data a merchant enters to run material inventory, plus the minimum needed to attribute a deduction to an order:
- Materials you create: name, unit, unit cost, stock quantity, alert threshold, note
- Recipes: a Shopify product variant ID, its display name, and the quantity of a material consumed per unit sold
- Deduction history: order ID, order name (for example
#1002), line item ID, material, and quantity deducted - Settings: your language preference
- An access token for your shop, so the app can read products and receive order webhooks
What this app does not store
No customer personal data. The app does not read or store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or shipping and billing addresses. There is no customer record in its database.
When an order is paid, the app reads the order’s line items — the product variant and the quantity — and ignores the rest of the payload. It also stores no payment or card information of any kind.
Shopify permissions used
read_products— to let you pick a product variant when building a reciperead_orders— to receive the “order paid” webhook and deduct materials
Both permissions are read-only. The app never modifies your products, orders, customers, or storefront.
Where data is stored
Data is stored on servers located in Tokyo, Japan, on an encrypted disk. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and it is not used to train any machine learning model.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, its access token for your shop is deleted immediately. Remaining shop data is deleted within 48 hours of Shopify sending the shop redaction request, in line with Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks.
Because no customer personal data is held, customer data requests and customer redaction requests return nothing to erase. You may request deletion of your shop’s data at any time using the contact below.
